Outreach
The call and grace necessary to reach outside the doors of a church is as significant as the ministry that occurs inside the church. It would be easy to measure the success of outreach if one were to measure by numbers alone. The mandate to ensure the success of new convert should be equaled to getting the convert in the first place. For too many this is simply not true. The total deliverance and total development for the total man has been part of the vision and call of Christian Assembly.
Contrary to popular belief, the winning of souls is not reserved for the evangelist alone. Every believer is equipped for this task. Does this translate to street witnessing? A WWJD bracelet? A honk if you love Jesus bumper sticker? All of those things have their place in our free society. Reality is that they truly do not have the mass influence that we as believers want. Our target must be to get the lost saved the saved established, the established trained and the trained sent out.
The family of Christian Assembly is given the example of love and compassion combined with excellence and integrity. Christian Assembly offers a variety of options when it comes to the winning the lost. With the wonderful training of Pastor Bill Anzevino the family of Christian Assembly are given the example of love and compassion combined with excellence and integrity. We believe that demonstrating this combination to our congregation is the spearhead to effective evangelism. Being a good witness for Jesus most simply translates into walking in the light of the Word of God to be a good son or daughter of God.
Will and Cristen Bridges, of
Bridges for Life ministries, offer training and opportunity to our congregation for street evangelism, where we take the simple message of salvation to the lost of our surrounding communities.
The street evangelism team of Christian Assembly has been very successful over the years. Through the Lord’s grace we have been able to see literally thousands of people introduced to the Gospel through the efforts of these diligent people. Souls and souls alone are the passion of Will and Cristen Bridges. Gaining their wisdom and their insight to seeing the lost come to Jesus is a wonderful asset for the people of our church.
Most believers have been exposed to some form of street evangelism at one time or another. The ministry of street evangelism will always be an unending task for the body of Christ. However, with today’s society the way it is and at the pace it operates, it can be difficult, if not impossible to demonstrate the love of God effectively and consistently.
On Friday nights when many are considering plans for the weekend and are thankful for the end of another week, the street evangelism of Christian Assembly hits the streets. They strive to reach people and parts of the tri-state area that tend to go unnoticed. They are armed with the Love of God and passion to see people born again. Will and Christen have invested their hearts and time to ensure success each time our team ventures out. Our desire is to see the lost saved and to point them to a good Home
church. We do our best to partner with area churches and send new Christians to a good Home
church.
The call to reach the unreached or find the lost will not leave the church until the church leaves. As society has evolved the methods and tactics to make the Gospel attractive must evolve with it. Through the efforts of Bridges for Life ministries Christian Assembly has adapted to the mandates of society through a creative and diligent servant evangelism team. This team attends the area fairs, concerts and events for the sake of parking cars or picking up trash. They will bag groceries for the elderly in local grocery stores. Often times you may see them washing windows of cars in parking lots or passing out flowers to local nurses.
The gospel and it's powerful message are timeless and being innovative with sharing its message with today’s culture is a must. Too many tend to become desensitized or accustomed to outdated methods of outreach. Thinking different, loving different, serving different and being different for the sake of the lost will always be a core goal of Christian Assembly.
